伏羲女娲，一人持圆规一人持三角尺，即规矩，代表天圆地方，在汉朝十分普遍，留下壁画砖画和少数没腐烂的绢画，但新疆发现大批唐朝的绢画，归功与气候干燥.维族明显有他们自己祖传的伏羲女娲故事，从汉族学来的故事不可能很快广泛流传。

The composite Fuxi Nuwa diagram, with one holding the compass and other the square, symbolizing round-heaven-square earth, was common in the Han dynasty, leaving numerous wall paintings and brick carvings for later discovery - a small number of silk paintings survived decay; in Xinjiang, however, the dry weather helped a large number of silk paintings to survive. It appears that the Urgurs at the time inherited the Fuxi-Nvwa stories from their own tribal ancesters - it is extremely unlikely that trade and contact with the Hans due to Silk Road wold have caused such wide adoption.
